Fair enough but it’s going to be hard to sell without OOP, is it still registered in BC?

What does it need for OOP? Just a muffler?

I got my job in Ab before I could register to BC so I never got it registered there. It passed BC inspection in Feb, so it could easily pass there again. BC's inspection is one page long. Alberta's is 15 and completely ridiculous. I have an OOP that it failed and have the list of things it needed, many are small some are harder. No idea what goes into replacing a transmission mount.

20$ and four largish bolts usually

Nice. Well then that’s easy peasy. There was another problem they mentioned which was adding some washers. I can probably manage to cross a few off the list for the next buyer.

“Failed Out of province.”

So instead of happing an OOP, it has an ‘oops’.

Haha, I am not that skilled. What made you say this? It is the brapalier due to it’s Fast and Furious resenator.

Never done it on a brapalier but my old aveo it was that easy, even in my Midwestern snow belt the ten year old bolts were OK

Dunno anything about what washers they were on about but the trans mount shouldn't be too bad

Thanks. It was adding some washers underneath the strut mounting bolts. It was not hard to do. It cost me CAD $3.97

Wait, so are you completing the fixes to sell or keep the car?

Sell. I think. Just gonna tackle some small stuff. I mean, it was $3.97.

I’m sure it’d be quite the boon for your sale price if you got it to pass inspection.

With your new car I can't imagine you have much desire to drive it anymore either

I like to drive it on occasion. But if I get it past inspection, I may as well just keep it. I live way up on the 54th parallel. A ford mustang convertible is not a good winter car.

Well, I’m sure you can do it! Also as a second car you can take your time/mess up with fixes since you don’t have to drive it daily.

Did you attempt the trans mount yet and what's left to fix?

Exhaust system. Control Arm bushings. Transmission Mount. Windshield wiper arms....power steering hoses...and they said for inspection an entire rack and pinion set, but that ain’t happening.

Soooo depower the rack?

Cheapest thing you could do is find a good setup at a salvage yard. Even that isn’t gonna be cheap.

Or spray lots of degreaser on it before the test so it looks shiny and new and hope they don’t notice any leak...

Yeah no kidding. Hence my unwillingness to go any further. The car leaks oil and clutch fluid too but they didn’t notice because I cleaned the engine before hand. I just had to pay another months insurance. I am knocking the price down by $200 and rejigging my ad. I am getting rid of this thing this month I’ve decided.

It’s sad when a car becomes worth less than it would cost to repair, but that is the logical time to let it go

Maybe enough to pay for winter wheels and tires (if you can find good used wheels)
